A new Co-operative of customers, staff, and suppliers?
Macleod Organics – The Future – A new Co-operative!
As many of you know, Macleod Organics has been in existence since 1999 and has been at the forefront of the organic food and farming scene in Scotland.
I founded the organisation and am currently the Managing Director.
However, the sands of time keep running and I need to retire and concentrate on my pottering in the polytunnels to produce more lovely produce for all our wonderful customers.
I have looked at various options and have come to the conclusion that I would like to hand over the business to the people that have made it all possible over the years. That is you, our loyal and wonderful customers and staff.
So, we are going to form a Members Co-operative that includes mainly our customers but also some staff and suppliers.
I am looking for volunteers among our customers to help with the setting up and possibly being part of a steering group to take the Co-operative forward.
There will not be anything onerous or time-consuming to do but anything will help, however small.
