What is your packaging policy?

Organic Food & Farming

What is organic farming?

Organic farming is a system of producing food by working with nature and natural processes. This is different from other systems that attempt to fight against nature using artificial fertilisers, chemicals, poisons, genetic modifications.

Why is organic food better for human health?

Organic food contains more vitamins, trace minerals and cancer-fighting antioxidants. Also, organic food does NOT contain residues of pesticides, insecticides and other toxic chemicals used in non-organic systems. Additives such as hydrogenated fat, aspartame and monosodium glutamate are banned.

Why is organic food better for animals?

No system of farming has higher standards of animal welfare than organic farms. The intensive confinement of farm animals is banned and the inhumane cruelty along with unhealthy conditions of factory farming, can be avoided.

How does organic farming help the environment?

As our precious soil is a living organism, organic farming standards ensure that soil fertility conditions are improved.  Pollution from toxic sprays and nasty chemicals are avoided as they damage both wildlife and our environment.

What about climate change?

Organic farming produces less carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide which are dangerous global warming gases. In addition, the soil on organic farms stores much more carbon from the air. A change to organic food production will help greatly in fighting climate change. Therefore, buying organic food is one of the steps one should take for our planet’s survival.
